Internal Medicine
Valley Ranch Pet Clinic has the ability to diagnose and treat all internal medical conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, endocrine diseases, organ dysfunctions, intestinal issues, cardiac disease, immune-mediated disease, and cancer. We work closely with area internists, cardiologists, oncologists, and neurologists as needed.
Internal Medicine Management
Small animal internal medicine encompasses a range of diseases—both acute and chronic—involving, but not limited to, the respiratory, renal, hepatic, gastrointestinal, neurologic, cardiac, endocrine, and immune systems. Some of the more common disorders we see include gastrointestinal disease, chronic and acute renal failure, protein-losing disorders, immune-mediated diseases, heart disease, respiratory disease, diabetes, Addison’s disease, and Cushing’s disease.
These diseases can often be diagnosed and managed in general practice, but in some instances may require referral to an internal medicine specialist. Additionally, Valley Ranch Pet Clinic works with local specialists who provide on-site services that are integral to internal medicine at our clinic; these include radiology/ultrasound services and cardiology services.
